JENNI ALPERT AND THE BLOOD DRIVEN TOUR TO SUPPORT MUSIC SAVES LIVES

Emerging pop songstress Jenni Alpert, whose sultry voice, honest songwriting and soothing melodies grab listeners in every corner, is now touring the country on the Blood Driven Tour presented by Music Saves Lives to help raise awareness and encourage blood donations. The Blood Driven Tour includes supportive live performances during the day at blood drives, all free and open to the public, as well as extended sets of music at local venues in the evening. Jenni Alpert will be joined on the tour by drummer Corey Coverstone and together they will perform and speak on the value of donating blood to save a life, and encourage action reaching over 8,000 blood donors in person and virally.

A few years ago Jenni Alpert, who was adopted at age four, reunited with her biological family. She discovered that her cousin had red blood cell aplasia and was surviving from weekly blood transfusions. After losing her adopted father to cancer at a young age and watching him struggle with the need for blood, Jenni spent the next few years helping her cousin through some of his hardest days. During that period she learned a lot about the value of donating blood and bone marrow. A few years later Jenni hooked up with Music Saves Lives who created a program of running blood drives and giving music away as perks to people to help raise awareness and encourage blood donations. With the Blood Driven Tour, Jenni will assist Music Saves Lives in spreading their message through music and song, helping folks feel more at ease while they are donating their blood with a little entertainment.

MUSIC SAVES LIVES TO EDUCATE THE MASSES ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF SUMMER BLOOD DONATIONS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MUSIC SAVES LIVES TO EDUCATE THE MASSES ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF SUMMER BLOOD DONATIONS DURING 54-CITY TREK ON VANS WARPED TOUR, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MONSTER ENERGY

Donors to Have Access to Exclusive Meet and Greets with Monster Energy Bands as Music Saves Lives Helps Offset Slow Blood Donation Season

(Los Angeles, CA – June 22, 2011) – Music Saves Lives, a recognized 501 (c)(3) organization that is the bridge between music, entertainment and important life-saving causes,   will hit the road on all 54 dates of the Vans Warped Tour educating and thanking blood donors across the US and Canada beginning June 24th in Dallas, TX.  This marks the 6th year Music Saves Lives has taken its crusade to the concert sheds of the Vans Warped Tour, all the while receiving distinguished awards from the American Red Cross for the largest youth blood donation program ever in the US, five years running.

Because over 25% of the nation’s blood supply is donated by High Schools and Colleges, summer month blood supplies are severely affected and this year Music Saves Lives hopes to reach over 100,000 blood donations.  Music Saves Lives reaches out and educates concert goers on the importance of blood donations, providing encouragement to run and participate in blood drives in their community.

The ultimate reward in donating blood is the realization that a single donation can save up to 3 lives, but giving has its perks too! Music Saves Lives offers ‘meet & greets’ with bands out on the Vans Warped Tour, through a partnership with Monster Energy to make that all happen.  Many Monster Energy bands, such as Of Mice and Men, will take part in meeting thousands of blood donors attending each tour date.  Additionally, by texting “Monster” to 411247 fans will have access to exclusive video and music from Monster Energy andMusic Saves Lives.
