The Music Saves Lives /Gibson Guitar Auction is set to feature a one of a kind 2009 Gibson Les Paul Studio with custom graphics and signature by Guns N’ Roses guitarist DJ Ashba.  Monster Energy and Ashba donated the guitar to Music Saves Lives to raise funds for life saving causes that help increase the nation’s safe Blood Supply and Marrow Registry.   Kevin Lyman, founder of the Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Country Throwdown and Mayhem Festival, started the foundation ‘Unite the United’, where proceeds from eBay auctions benefit selected nonprofits.  Music Saves Lives has been selected for this unique eBay fundraising.
Darren Jay Ashba (born November 10, 1972 in Monticello, Indiana) is an American guitarist and songwriter. He is currently a guitarist in Sixx:A.M. and Guns N' Roses, and is also known for his work with hard rock bands BulletBoys, and Beautiful Creatures.  Ashba has worked with various artists including Mötley Crüe, Drowning Pool, Marion Raven, Aimee Allen and Neil Diamond.

The summer of 2010 is the fifth summer Music Saves Lives has been supported by the Vans Warped Tour to educate and encourage blood donation.  This program has generated over 100,000 blood donations this summer and over 1 million in the past 5 years and it is the largest youth blood donation program in US history.
Music Saves Lives brings a simple concept: Connect the music and entertainment we all love to a life saving community action.  Music Saves Lives has focused efforts on blood donation and the bone marrow registry and reaching out by sharing facts, educating and empowering youth. BEHEMOTH’s Nergal Brings Awareness to the Need for Marrow Donors

FAQ's Below to Answer many questions.
BEHEMOTH leader Nergal has just found out he needs a marrow transplant to fight the sickness he has recently been diagnosed with (leukemia). In light of this he wants to remind everyone about the need to be on the marrow registry.  "It's so important that you are added to the national marrow registration.  Not only will I have a better chance of finding a match but the thousands that are waiting will also have that chance."
BEHEMOTH and Metal Blade would like to thank everyone for their support and well wishes during this difficult time. The best thing we can all do right now is learn about the marrow donation process, not only help save one of metal’s leaders, but to also help save countless others out there struggling with the same disease.

Music Saves Lives® is the bridge between music, entertainment and important life-saving causes. We bring a simple concept; connect the music and entertainment, we all love, to a life saving community action. MSL has focused efforts on blood donation and the  marrow registry, reaching out by sharing facts, educating and empowering. We educate about the importance of simple life saving actions they can participate in. These simple actions, like donating blood, running a blood drive, and registering for the marrow program to save those with leukemia, all connect back to the community.

Marrow FAQ.

1 . I want to donate Bone Marrow/Stem Cells to Adam “Nargel” Darski, how do I do
that?

First off, thats awesome that you want to help. It is important to know that donating
bone marrow isn’t the same as donating blood. Donor compatibility is one in millions
for bone marrow, being part of the registry doesn’t mean that you will be donating in
your lifetime, but you must be committed and ready if called.  It is very important to expand the registry by adding as many people to it as possible. At any given time there are thousands of people around the world waiting for a bone marrow match, growing the registry gives these people a greater chance of
finding a match.

2 . I live in a different country than Nargel, does that matter?

No the Bone Marrow Registry is international, meaning if you sign up in different parts of the world, you may be matched with someone in another part of the world.

3 . I want to be part of the registry, how do I join?

If you live in the United States and would like to be a part of the Marrow Registry check out
http://marrow.org for more information about how you can join and materials will be
sent to you.
If you live in Europe, check out http://dkms.de
If you live somewhere else, you can search “Marrow Registry” for your country and get more information there.

4 . I want to run a Marrow Drive and expand the registry.

Very soon Music Saves Lives may need your help in the city you live in. We are setting up drives and registration locations.  This will take us a few weeks to confirm location and your help in your city will be very appreciated.
If you live in the United States, and want to start right now visit http://marrow.org and contact
them to run a drive and to find out more information about setting up drives.
If you live in Europe you can contact DKMS at http://dkms.ed to run a drive near you.
If you live outside that area, google search for Marrow Registry in your area and contact a
representative there about running a drive.

5 . I’m not eligible to join the Registry and it would be hard to run a drive, but I want to help, what can I do right now?

Music Saves Lives has a goal to register as many people as we can reach. We want to expand worldwide and your donation can help us achieve that goal.  MSL is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and your donation is tax deductible.  You will want to consult your tax professional about your personal deductions.
